walking the path

in all my years of wandering i keep returning to the feet. the feet as a tool to get us places, the feet as an annoyance that keep us still, the feet as a map to other parts of the body.

the foot is composed of 26 bones, 30 some odd muscles and tendons and 7000 plus nerve endings. who would have thunk that somethings so boney and compacted would have so many bits and bobs? as we get older those ligaments get overworked and tendons take over which pull on muscles. those tiny micro ankle twists add up as we now have several hundred near misses with ankle sprains and strains. this all adds up to more fatigue, less ability to walk or run or skip long distances or stand for long hours.

when all of the compounded mini ouchies and big ouchies add up over the decades there comes a tipping point where the foot just stops being able to keep going without support. that support sometimes comes in the form of getting rid of cute shoes, having cortisone shots or stopping activity.

but what if there was a different way?

what if there was this slightly strange person who works only on feet?

what if there was a map that showed how our foot pain could be connected to ur neck pain or our asthma or our tummy troubles?

it’s me, i’m that person.

i’ve spent the last 23 years learning and teaching about feet and no matter what other various twists and turns my career has taken i’ve always kept working on feet. my path now leads me to skagit county and the magic of down town Mount Vernon.

come see me. let’s talk about feet, and lets get you moving and dancing and playing again.
